Taxonomy & UX: Structuring Data to Drive Experiences

Content & UX Design
Psychology of Performance or Why Performance Matters
Denys Mishunov
Your users don’t care about performance in numeric values. Performance is about perception. This workshop will teach you about this perception in the context of neuroscience and psychology.
Connected World
Rapid Cross-Channel Prototyping
Andrea Resmini
This practical and engaging workshop will teach you everything you need to know to map out a cross-channel ecosystem. You’ll create rapid prototypes which you can use to quickly test your ideas.

Design Teams is a Design Exercise: How to Build, Inspire and Keep Design Teams (Happy)
Alberta Soranzo
Martina Hodges-Schell

The Original Design Slam
Eric Reiss
Matthew Fetchko
Dorelle Rabinowitz
The Slam is a high-powered, 2 ½ hour brainstorming competition. We give participants a problem to solve and business goals to address, forcing them to think beyond ordinary constraints. They leverage hard and soft business skills in a team effort to solve the unsolvable, and a prize is awarded at the end.
14:25 - 14:45
Moo or Boo: Insights from an Internet of Cows
Bart Hilhorst
One of the most tangible, and tangibly valuable applications of connected devices is in agriculture and farming. This talk will share practical insights from a smart dairy system project… the Internet of Cows (IoC?).
14:50 - 15:10
The Ecosystem is Bigger than You!
Daniel Braithwaite
Kieron Leppard
The ubiquity of connected devices in our physical environments is pushing traditional UI work into the background. We now need to design for more diverse senses, and so the skill sets needed to deliver effective solutions are increasing.

REST Interfaces to the Internet of Things
Jack Jansen
Steven Pemberton
REST (REpresentational State Transfer) is the architectural basis of the web. This talk will explain how it can be used as a highly efficient and flexible interface connecting a diverse set of devices via the Internet of Things (IoT).
